UV Black Light
Dried pet urine fluoresces under UV — even accidents that are years old. We sweep the whole area so nothing hides.
The only way to actually get rid of pet urine is to find all of it first. We use UV black lights and moisture meters on every job — so we treat the real problem, not just what you can see or smell.
Pet urine is tricky. When it leaves your dog, cat, or other animal, it comes out neutral on the pH scale — but as it dries it turns very basic, and that's where the ammonia smell comes from. It also dries into a crystal. To actually get rid of it, you need a product that breaks up the urine crystal and a natural enzyme to digest the proteins. Store-bought sprays don't do either — they just cover the smell and often make the stain worse.
After a decade of Humble homes and 1,100+ five-star reviews, we've built our pet odor process around attacking urine at the molecular level — not just the surface. Every job starts with a UV black light and moisture meter so we know exactly what we're dealing with, then we match the treatment to how deep it went. We offer two: topical for most situations, and restoration when the urine has reached the subfloor.
"We use UV black lights and moisture meters on every job to locate hidden pet urine before we treat it — not after." — Phillip Scott, Owner
This is where our process matters most. Most cleaners guess at where the problem is — usually based on where you point. We verify. Before we touch a drop of cleaning solution, we sweep the entire area with a UV black light and read every suspicious spot with a moisture meter. That way we know exactly where the urine is, how deep it went, and which treatment is actually going to work.

Tells us whether urine is surface-level or has soaked into the pad and subfloor — so we match the right treatment to the real problem.
Pet urine doesn't always stop at the carpet. Where it went determines what treatment will actually work. We'll tell you which one you need during the free quote — honestly, with UV and moisture readings to back it up.
Our standard process for the large majority of pet odor jobs — effective on urine that's in the face yarn, backing, and pad.
When a pet has marked the same spot over and over, urine eventually soaks through the carpet and backing and starts absorbing into the subfloor. Topical won't fix that. This will.
Here's exactly what happens when we come out for a pet odor job — from the moment we walk in to the final UV check on the way out.
We walk the areas with you, ask about the pets and history, and listen. Most of the time you already know where the worst spots are — but sometimes the UV tells a different story.
Lights down, UV light on. We sweep the affected rooms, mark every accident, then use the moisture meter to gauge how deep each spot went. You see the map before we touch anything.
Thorough vacuum to remove pet hair and dry soil. Drop cloths on the lawn, corner guards on the doorways, plastic tabs and foam blocks ready for the furniture.
We apply a urine-specific product that breaks down the crystal and uses natural enzymes to digest the proteins causing the odor. Store-bought sprays don't do either — this is why they fail and we don't.
Our sub-surface extraction tool pulls urine out of the face yarn, carpet backing, and the pad underneath — not just what sits on top. We treat and extract repeatedly until no more urine is coming out. Remaining staining gets hand-treated with specialty spotters.
Before we leave, we re-check every spot under UV. If anything still shows, we treat it again — on the same visit, no extra charge. That's the only way we know the job is actually done.
If the same spot has been marked over and over and urine has reached the subfloor, we escalate: pull the carpet back, remove the contaminated padding, clean and seal the subfloor so nothing can penetrate back through, replace the pad, reinstall, then finish with a full carpet clean.
Low-VOC, fragrance-neutral, and safe to walk on once dry — usually a few hours.
A lot of pet odor "solutions" out there are harsher than the problem. Heavy fragrance, high VOCs, residue that keeps the pets you love off the carpet for a week. That's not us. Every product we use is chosen to break down pet urine specifically — without leaving your home smelling like a chemistry set.
Based in Humble, TX — we handle pet odor removal in homes across 15+ communities. Don't see yours? Give us a call, we probably cover it.
