Pet urine presents a unique challenge. When it leaves your dog or cat, it starts out pH-neutral, but as it dries it turns increasingly alkaline, and that's where the ammonia smell comes from. It also crystallizes as it dries. To successfully remove it, you need both a product to break down the urine crystal and a natural enzyme that digests the proteins. Store-bought sprays don't do either.
After 10 years of serving Houston-area homes and 1,100+ five-star reviews, we've built our pet odor process around addressing urine at the molecular level, not just the surface. Every job starts with a UV black light and moisture meter so we know exactly what we're dealing with, then we customize the solution based on contamination depth.

"We use UV black lights and moisture meters on every job to locate hidden pet urine before we treat it — not after." — Phillip Scott, Owner
This is where our process makes the real difference. Most cleaners make assumptions about problem areas based on your direction. We verify. Before we touch a drop of cleaning solution, we sweep the entire area with a UV black light and read every suspicious spot with a moisture meter.
Dried pet urine fluoresces under UV — even accidents that are years old. We sweep the whole area so nothing hides.
Tells us whether urine is surface-level or has soaked into the pad and subfloor — so we match the right treatment to the real problem.
Pet urine doesn't always stop at the carpet fibers. Where it went determines what treatment will actually work. We'll identify the right solution during your free quote, backed by UV and moisture readings.
Our standard process for the large majority of pet odor jobs — effective on urine that's in the face yarn, backing, and pad.
When a pet has marked the same spot over and over, urine eventually soaks through the carpet and backing and starts absorbing into the subfloor. Topical won't fix that. This will.
Here's exactly what happens when we come out for a pet odor job — from the moment we walk in to the final UV check on the way out.
We walk through the areas with you, ask about the pets and history, and pay close attention. Most of the time you already know where the worst spots are, but occasionally the black light reveals problem areas you might have missed.
Lights down, UV black light on. We sweep the affected rooms, mark every accident, then use the moisture meter to gauge how deep each spot went. You see the map before we touch anything.
Start with a complete vacuum pass to extract pet hair and loose dirt. Lay drop cloths across the lawn, place corner guards in the doorways, and prepare plastic tabs and foam blocks for furniture protection.
We apply a targeted urine solution that dissolves crystal buildup and leverages natural enzymes to break down odor proteins. Store-bought sprays don't do either.
Our sub-surface extraction tool removes urine from the face yarn, backing, and pad, not just what lies on the carpet surface. We treat and extract repeatedly until all urine has been removed.
Our final step involves a complete black light check of every spot we've worked on. Should anything still fluoresce under black light, we treat it again on the same visit without charging you extra. This is the only way we can be certain the work is actually finished.
If the same spot has been marked over and over and urine has reached the subfloor, we escalate: pull the carpet back, remove the contaminated padding, clean and seal the subfloor so nothing can penetrate back through, replace the pad, reinstall, then finish with a full carpet clean.

Low-VOC, fragrance-neutral, and safe to walk on once dry — usually a few hours.
Many pet odor solutions on the market are harsher than necessary. They rely on heavy fragrance, high VOCs, and residue that keeps your beloved pets away from the carpet for days. That's not us. Every product we use is specifically chosen to break down pet urine without harsh chemicals.

Carpet was a washable wool rug and Scott’s did a fantastic job. Staff communicated effectively and the whole process was very easy.

If we locate it, we can eliminate it. Our sub-surface extraction tool removes urine from the face yarn, backing, and padding, rather than addressing only the surface. Before we leave, we re-check every spot under UV black light. If anything still fluoresces, we address it immediately during your appointment, no extra charge.
That's what our restoration treatment is for. We roll back the carpet, dispose of the contaminated padding, clean and seal the subfloor to block residual urine from returning through, then reinstall the pad and carpet and perform a comprehensive clean. Topical treatment alone won't address subfloor contamination.
That's it. That's the guarantee. No forms to fill out, no hoops to jump through. If anything about our work doesn't meet your expectations, call us and we'll re-clean it — on the house.
Two ways to get started. Pick what's easiest for you.
